Team Leader's Report:
We had to change location last minute because of the rains. This prevented us
from traveling to the area the
team was originally going toserve. There are no
paved roads in the Northeastern Province.
Remarkable things we saw God do
During our time in Kenya two young MBB (Muslim Background Believers) approached us to tell us about their salvation and one of those is at this time being discipled by a
near-culture believer with hope of getting the MBB back into his family and
culture.
More than one of us during the trip was able to share openly and verbally
his/her faith in Jesus, as well as the gospel content. We met for the first time ever members of the Waata ethnic group (another
Cuchitic people group ) for whomour partners hold responsibility.
We made
contact in Garissa, for the first time. With another evangelical
organization working with at least two of our peoplegroups. The medical team was able to model Christ's life in three villages and
see more than 1000 patients.
None of these things would have happened if we had not made this trip. If we had been able to go where the rains
prevented us we would have only been able to help . God's leading and timing are perfect.
Some other considerations
There are some exciting things happening in EL, where we have worked with
past teams. The rains have filled the two reservoir sites so we will have a water
supply for the filtration process we are developing and installing. We are sure there are many blessings to come that will be realized later
from this team. One blessing I am expecting is hearing from the Elder in the
one village who gave us a Koran in exchange for a Bible.
